This weekend Reina Mora Brewing Co. and Cervecería del Callejón will launch their Bière de Garde Style collaboration beer: SUSÚA

Bière de Garde is a “sister” style to Saison, that was developed in France where brewers would use available ingredients to make a stronger beer that would keep until the spring. As breweries became more industrial a shift to lager/cleaner yeast occurred in the French tradition of this brew

For their SUSÚA Reina Mora Brewing Co. and Cervecería del Callejón used lager yeast and was lagered / stored/ “Garde” for 6 weeks. The brewers say that the beer “Leans heavy on malt flavors from Pilsner and Munich malts. Solid hop aroma and medium bitterness in the palate with a slightly fruity/lemony finish”.

SUSÚA was naturally carbonated by “spunding”, which is the process of keeping the beer under pressure from a certain point and on during the fermentation. This helps the beer to keep a lot of flavors/aromas that normally are “blown off” during fermentation. Some aromatics as a  result of fermentation can be perceived in the nose and flavor.

SUSÚA has an ABV of 7.2%

To mark the release of SUSÚA there will be 2 special launch events
