Puerto Rico Beer week kicks off tomorrow Saturday December 2 and ends with National Puerto Rico Beer Day on Saturday December 9.
To mark this occasion there are several events happening during the week and in addition several of the local Puerto rican Breweries will be releasing new beers or beers that have not been around for a long time. So here’s what you can look forward to.
Saturday December 2
Cacique Brewing Co. – Dark Chocolate Stout with Vanilla & Cinnamon
Cacique describe the beer as a “creamy stout style beer brewed with cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon , which offers flavors matching the fresh season of the Primera Montana, Orocovis”
It has a medium body with moderate alcohol and comes in with an ABV of 5.5%
Coldblood Brewery – La Guardia Session IPA
La Guardia is brewed with Amarillo and Cascade Hops that has an ABV of 4.7%. Coldblood says “it i a beer that is floral and citrusy that is smooth on the palate”.
La Guardia will be available at the Sabana Grande Beer City Festival on December 2 and it will also be available on December 1 at Cold Blood Brewery
Thursday December 7
Boxlab Brewing Co. – CHOCOBOMBA Imperial Chocolate Stout
Brewed with copious amounts of chocolate and has an ABV of 9.5%, Chicobomba will be released at 4pm at The Beer Box, Aguadilla
Ingeniero Microbrewery – Stay Puff Marshmallow Chocolate Stout
This is technically a release of a collaboration beer with Barloventa Brewing Co. back in 2014. Stay Puff is a Pastry Stout that was created to resemble S’mores. It has an ABV of 7.7% with 38IBU’s
You can grab a glass or two at The Beer Box in Aguadilla from 7pm
Ocean Lab Brewing Co. – Hop Accented Kolsch
For PR Beer Week Ocean Lab will be releasing Hop Accented Kolsch as part of their Experimental Series of beers. This one comes in with an ABV of 5.2% and will be available on draft only at their Taproom in Isla Verde.
Friday December 8
Asomante Brewery – India Pale lager
Asomante Brewery will be releasing their second beer during Puerto Rico Beer Weel at Aibonito Beer Garden starting at 7pm.
Asomante says the beer “has quite an explosion of flavors” and has an ABV of 6.2% and 42 IBU’s
Lupulos Hermanos – Parranda Imperial Stout
Parranda Imperial Stout is brewed with authentic Madagascar Vanilla and Toasted Coconut and Lupulos syas that the beer “captures the essence of Puerto Rican Christmas Festivities. It’s like a glass of Coquito in a beer”
Parranda will be available at Lupulo Hermanos taproom in Carolina.
