Florida based M.I.A. Beer Company has launched several of their beers here in Puerto Rico; in both draft and cans
The beers will be imported and distributed by Toma! Distribution Company and for this past weekends release they were able to distribute 20 Kegs to El Tap, Taberna Lupulo. Aibonito Beer Garden, The Beer Box. Barrio Pizza and El Grito.
Unfortunately, as of today the majority of the kegs have run dry, but check the bars on Untappd for the latest info on draft supplies.
Cans of M.I.A. have been spotted in various bars and gas stations, so you might be able to pick up a pack or two if you are lucky…
M I A beers that have so far made it to the shores of Puerto Rico (in limited quantities) include:
Miami Weiss (Draft)
hefeweizen Style Ale. This #1 Flaghip beer, brewed with wheat, barley and sweet orange peal. This unfiltered hefe produces vanilla, banana and bubblegum esters
Mega Mix (Cans)
West Coast style Pale Ale with a light body and mix of Mosaic, Galaxy and Citra late addition and dry hops. Hugely aromatic and midly bitter
Tourist Trappe (Draft & Cans)
Belgian Style Tripel brewed with blond malts and a touch of candy sugar. It is fermented with Belgian Abbey yeast strain that imparts fruit and spicy yet soft, well rounded esters. Its easy on the palate but deceptively strong
305 (Draft & Cans)
A Golden Ale that is light and crisp, brewed with a touch of West Coast hops to give a finish that is dry and clean
Neon (Draft)
A White IPA brewed with Pilsner malt, white wheat and hopped exclusively with Cutra hops that give a strong, yet smooth floral and citrus aroma and flavor
Don;t worry, if like me you missed the chance to try some M.I.A beer this time round, Toma are expecting more kegs before the end of August 😉
