Ocean Lab Brewing Company just released their latest beer; Hurricaned Harvest Ale. A beer that came to fruition as they and Puerto Rico took hits from Hurricane Irma and then Hurricane Maria.
Thanks to Ocean Lab Brewing Co. passion for beer, Puerto Rico and with the help of electrical generators Ocean lab were able to brew the very first Harvest Ale in Puerto Rico. Hence the name Hurricaned Harvest Ale.
The story behind Hurricaned Harvest Ale even made it to the label on the bottle
“Puerto Rico lies broken after two major hurricanes hit within a two week period. Shortly after Hurricane Irma damaged our island, Ocean Lab Brewing received freshly harvested Citra hops that had been pre-ordered from the Yakima Valley area to make the first fresh Harvest Ale ever brewed on our land. Using electric generators and other emergency installations, our brewers decided to continue with our plan.
During the fermentation process, Hurricane Maria hit hard our already crippled island. The storms never stopped us from trying to achieve our goals. We took all necessary steps to save this beer to show our spirit of perseverance and survival. We hope that all residents and visitors of this island can share our resilience and help us make our island shine again. This one is for you, Puerto Rico, together we stand. Always”
