The craft beer scene in Puerto Rico is exploding exponentially, not just with more and more bars, restaurants and supermarkets offering a varied selection of American and International craft beers; but with local Puerto Rican micro and nano breweries producing great tasting beers..
If you are traveling around the island and are looking for a bar to grab a craft beer; then this list is a great place to start.
La Taberna LĂşpulo, Old San Juan
La Taberna LĂşpulo located on Calle San Sebastian Street in Old San Juan, offers around 50 craft beers on tap and over 100 bottles of the finest Belgian, English, German, and American Craft Beers. The bar also offers a varied pub food menu if you are feeling hungry. They are open Monday – Sunday from noon

Taberna Boricua, Hato Rey, San Juan
Taberna Boricua located in the Hato Rey district of San Juan is a popular spot for craft beer lovers. They have an extensive inventory of bottled beers and a good selection of rotating draft beers. They are open Tuesday – Friday from 4pm and Saturdays from 6pm
El Tap, San Juan
El Tap on Calle Loiza in San Juan is fairly new to the craft beer scene in Puerto Rico and is quickly becoming a popular spot with beer lovers. The bar offers around 46 draft beers including a good selection of local Puerto Rican beers. They are open Tuesday – Sunday from 3pm.
La Esquinita Jardin Cervecero, Bayamon
La Esquinita is a beer garden and food truck spot in Bayamon that offers a rotating draft beer selection as well as a great selection of bottled beers. They are open Monday – Sunday from 11am.

The Beer Box, Aguadilla
The Beer Box was one of the original craft beer spots in western Puerto Rico and is still going strong. Home to the beers of Box Lab Brewing Company, they offer a rotating selection of draft beers and a great selection of bottled beers. They are open Wednesday – Saturday from 5pm and Sundays from 3pm.

Rincon Beer Company, Rincon
Rincon Beer Company is located in Rincon Plaza offering 12 draft beers that include some local Puerto Rican breweries and a large selection of bottled beers. They are open Monday, Wednesday – Friday from 4pm, saturdays from 2pm and Sundays from noon
Birriola, Ponce
Birrola is unique as they ONLY server draft beers; no bottles or cans. They currently have 12 taps (soon to be 14) and offer a good selection of rotating beers including a very good selection from Puerto Rican breweries. They also have an extensive wine and tapas menu. They are open Wednesday & Thursday from 4pm, Friday & Saturday from 5pm and Sundays from 2pm

Tap Room @ Del Barril, Aguadilla
Del Barril is a recently opened nanobrewery located in Aguadilla and their Tap Room typically has 3-4 of their beers on tap. They are open Friday & Saturday from 5pm and Sundays from 2pm. If you get hungry you can grab something to eat or a refreshing cocktail from El Picnic right next door
Tap Room @ FOK Brewing Company, Caguas
The Tap Room @ FOK Brewing Company in Caguas offers visitors a chance to sample the breweries beers and is open from Thursday – Saturday from 2pm. If you are feeling hungry they typically have at least one if not more popular food trucks on hand as well as live entertainment.
Tap Room @ Ocean Lab Brewing Co., Carolina Beach, San Juan
Born on the Beach is Ocean Lab Brewing’s moto and at their tap room you can sample one of their many beers and also grab some tasty food while you are there. The microbrewery is located at the Vivo Beach Club in San Juan, which as an added bonus has great ocean views. They are open Monday – Sunday from 11am. From Weds – Sun there is a $5 parking fee that includes a free beer when you show your parking ticket.
