Committed to the Puerto Rican people, Anheuser-Busch will distribute drinking water in cans designed specifically for those affected by Hurricane Maria
Thousands of Puerto Ricans continue to suffer the consequences of not having potable water or electricity in their daily lives after Hurricane Mary. With this in mind, the brewer Anheuser-Busch and its local distributor on the island, B. Fernández & Hermanos, recently announced it will be delivering about four thousand cases of emergency water to those affected, who still have no water service available.
“Amid all the situations we are facing as a country, we decided to contribute to the welfare of our people. For this reason, along with the Anheuser-Busch brand we will be providing drinking water to communities in need who still do not have this resource,” said Ángel Vázquez, President of B. Fernández & Hermanos. He added that this effort was born in the United States after Hurricane Harvey that devastated much of the United States. Together with the Red Cross, beer production stopped and canning turned to drinking water for all concerned.
This special edition can has all the rigorous water quality, production, packaging and storage. The main focus of the company is to reach the neediest places. At the moment, the effort began with the distribution of water to the Naguabo communities, Maunabo, and soon will head towards the center of the island towns Jayuya, San Sebastián, and others.
