Guake’te Festbier, is REBL Brewery‘s latest beer and special collaboration with Alba Biergarten in Villalba, combining a passion for great beer with cultural fusion. This beer goes beyond a classic Festbier—it’s a celebration of Puerto Rican festivity and German brewing tradition.

What Makes Guake’te Festbier Unique?

Guake’te is named after the Taíno word for “gathering” or “bringing people together for a party,” perfectly fitting the Oktoberfest spirit. As a German Festbier, Guake’te delivers the smooth, malty flavors you’d expect, but with a unique Puerto Rican twist.

In true Puerto Rican style, REBL have replaced the usual Dextrin Malt with Pigeon Peas. This local ingredient, deeply rooted in Puerto Rican culture, adds body and foam stability to the beer, making it a standout brew.

Why Pigeon Peas? A Nod to Puerto Rican Gastronomy

Pigeon peas are packed with protein and starch, making them an excellent emulsifying agent for foam retention. This local touch connects the beer to Puerto Rican culinary traditions, especially during holidays, weddings, and birthdays.

Guake’te Festbier Flavor Profile

Guake’te is a 5.5% ABV lager, featuring an intense golden hue and a balanced malty profile. The combination of German hops, Perle and Hallertau Mittelfrüh, brings out a traditional Festbier flavor with a hint of Puerto Rican flair.

Stay tuned for the release date of this experimental Festbier! Whether you’re a craft beer lover or a fan of cultural fusion, Guake’te is the beer you won’t want to miss.
